Privacy Policy
EM Toolkit · Effective date: October 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information EM Toolkit (the “App”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The App is operated by Tiankun Li (“we”, “us”). If you have any questions, contact us at support@emtoolkit.cn.
In short: we collect only what is needed to run your account, your free trial or subscription, and to answer your feedback. We do not show ads, we do not sell your information, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
1. Information we collect
Account information
You sign in with Google or Apple. When you do, we receive a unique account identifier, your email address and, if you allow it, your name. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email” option, we receive an Apple relay address instead of your real email.
Trial and subscription information
We store the date your 7-day free access started. If you subscribe, we receive and store your subscription status: the product (monthly or yearly), whether it is active, start and expiry dates, and the related purchase event data sent to us by our subscription provider. Payments are processed entirely by Apple; we never receive your card or payment details.
Feedback you send us
When you use “Send Feedback”, we store the message you write, the topic you choose, your account email (so we can reply), the App version, the platform (for example iOS) and basic device information (a technical “user agent” string that includes the operating system version and device type).
Technical information
Like most online services, our hosting and subscription providers automatically process technical data needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, request times and error logs. Our subscription provider’s software also processes an app-specific device identifier, App version, App Store country and purchase history in order to manage subscriptions.
Information that stays on your device
Your favorites, recently viewed items, Dark Mode setting, sign-in session and a cached copy of the content library are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers, and they are removed when you sign out, delete your account or delete the App.
What we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers, no ads and no ad networks.
- No third-party analytics or tracking tools.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone or other device data.
2. How we use information
| Purpose | Information used | Legal basis (EEA/UK) |
|---|---|---|
| Create and sign in to your account | Account information | Performance of our contract with you |
| Provide the free trial and subscription, and restrict content to eligible accounts | Account, trial and subscription information | Performance of contract |
| Answer your questions and fix problems you report | Feedback, account email, device information | Performance of contract; our legitimate interest in supporting users and improving the App |
| Keep the service secure and working | Technical information | Our legitimate interest in security and reliability |
| Keep records required by law (for example tax or accounting) | Subscription information | Legal obligation |
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not send marketing emails.
3. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the App, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our behalf:
- Supabase – database and sign-in infrastructure (stores your account, trial, subscription status and feedback).
- RevenueCat – subscription management (receives your account identifier and purchase information).
- Apple – Sign in with Apple and App Store payments.
- Google – Google Sign-In, if you choose it.
- Our email provider – when we reply to your feedback by email.
Apple and Google process your information under their own privacy policies when you use their sign-in or payment services. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or others. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.
4. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Our database is hosted in the United States. Where information from the EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred to other countries, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep information
- Account, trial, subscription status and feedback: kept while your account exists, and deleted when you delete your account.
- Backups: deleted data may remain in routine backups for a limited period (typically up to 30 days) before it is overwritten.
- Email conversations: if we have replied to you by email, that correspondence may remain in our mailbox for as long as needed to handle your request.
- Purchase records: Apple and RevenueCat keep their own transaction records under their own policies, and we may keep limited records where the law requires it.
6. Your choices and rights
Delete your account at any time in the App: Profile → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and the information we store about you. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions).
Depending on where you live (for example in the EEA, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise these rights, email support@emtoolkit.cn from the address linked to your account. We will respond within the time required by law (generally within 30 days). We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Security
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to your data in our database is restricted so that each account can read only its own records, and content is available only to accounts with an active trial or subscription. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the App before they take effect.
